A Mini Book Review
What do I love about this book?
Everything.
Christine Quinn writes about her no holds barred approach to life and doesn’t hold back in sharing her hard-won victories with her reading audience. I think what I love most of all about her story is knowing that she did not let the early part of her life experiences or circumstances define who she was, or is, as a person. She made her opportunities and made the most of them.
Most of us have a surface knowledge of who Christine is if we’ve watched the Netflix series, Selling Sunset. However, the drama-filled, binge-worthy show does not share with us how Christine wound up in Los Angeles and what she did to get there. Many people with her early experiences would not have believed in themselves enough to change their destinies and would be content in settling for less than life can be.
Thankfully, Christine did not settle and has shared the lessons of her hard work with us. What are the greatest takeaways?
There are no shortcuts. There is work to be done, and it must be done! If you don’t know how to do something, be willing to find out how to do it, and learn from it. We’ve all heard the mantra, “Fake it until you make it,” and this is one of the mantras Christine has lived by. She explains its power to her readers, as well as many other insights into her work and life ethics.
You may notice, I’m writing this book review without providing major spoilers.
Why?
If you need encouragement, pick up this book, read it, and decide that today is the day to pursue your dream, your purpose, your relationship, your employment, or the life you desire.
If some of the advice appears to align with wisdom you’ve read or heard before, the question is, have you applied the wisdom for a better outcome? I read about things I’ve done before which have worked and also recognized areas of my life that need improvement.
In total, I believe that a great self-help book helps you recognize what works and what doesn’t, and Christine Quinn’s book succeeds and excels in this respect.
Happy reading!
