Ten Random Questions

Writing on low energy days

I have been working my way through a book of writing prompts, which I pick up when I’m tired and lack the stamina to write a full-blown article for the day. I’m about two-thirds of the way through the book and recommend it to all writers, thinkers, and creative people to spark your thought and imagination.

The book is 3,000 Questions About Me, published by Picadilly, Inc. and not attributed to a single writer or author. Yes — there are a total of 3,000 questions in the book, all of which may be answered in a brief line or two. That’s the amount of space provided for the answers.

I picked up my copy from the bargain table at Barnes and Noble, but it may also be ordered at Amazon.com.

Here are the ten random questions and answers I’ll provide in this article. There are many questions posed in the book which could provide ideas for your next blog post or story.

Question 668: Do you trust people who don’t look you in the eye?

No. I know they’re lying if that’s the behavior.

Question 1405: When do you function at your best?

Mid to late afternoon. It’s my favorite time.

Question 1166: If you ruled your own country, who would you get to write your national anthem?

I’d listen to several composers, then choose one.

Question 891: If you could have a child with a famous person, who would it be, and for what reason?

I wouldn’t wish this on myself.

Question 1257: When getting ready for a party, what takes you forever?

Getting out of the door exactly when I think I should. I like to be punctual.

Question 1128: If a waiter spilled a drink on you but it was an accident, would you still tip?

Yes. I’m sure the waiter would bring over club soda, and it would be okay.

Question 831: What is the scariest insect you can think of?

Tarantula or scorpion.

Question 605: Have you ever tried online dating? Why/why not?

Yes. I’m not a fan. Now I treat it with a sense of humor.

Question 862: If you were a stand-up comedian, who do you know would give you the most material?

Myself and my family life.

Question 1420: Are you a trendsetter?

No. I don’t worry about it.

Overall, if you’d like to learn more about yourself, or to give a boost to your writing routine, this book will provide inspiration.
